04/10/2015-tyw-Coherence Testing DHA Supplements and Real Food

Over the last few weeks, I ran a quick experiment with different sources of DHA.

This post will just skim over the details, and represents a brain-dump of current questions that I have. This is by no means an easy-to-read post.

Personal Observations

First, some important personal background:

•I have been eating a lot of DHA in the form of seafood for the last 2 years⇒DHA stores are relatively full

•My liver has consistently tested incoherent since birth. This puts a limit to the enzymatic pathways needed to process DHA from whole foods. This is mostly fixed with methylation support (mostly manganese and molybdenum). This means that eating seafood is a “stressor” to the liver if not supplemented with the appropriate nutrients.

On to the results:

(“Coherence Testing” refers to biotensor testing of specific objects)

•Algae-derived DHA consistently tests for improvements to cardiac and parathyroid function.Coherence is achieved in gate 21 and 51 on Human Design bodygraphs, correlating to acupuncture points of the heart inflow (just above and right of the left nipple region), heart (CV-14), thymus (slightly below collar bone at center line of body), and parathyroid (neck region right below chin)Fish-derived and Whole Food DHA do not improve coherence in these areas.

Algae-derived DHA do not improve these areas.

•Whole food DHA (seafood) almost always put added stress on my liver. (Gate 25 on HD Bodygraphs, corresponding to LIV-14 point).

Taking molybdenum (approx 150mcg) and manganese (approx 15mg) fixes these issues.

Clearly, different sources of DHA give me different benefits, and all forms have their utility.

NOTE: I am assuming “high quality” DHA sources here. Cold processed and properly stored away from high temperatures and light in the case of supplemental capsules. Seafood sources that are not treated to high heat (>100C)

sn-1 vs sn-2 DHA

DHA can be attached to the glycerol backbone in 3 different positions.

sn-2 position DHA seems to be better absorbed into the brain. I'll let other sources explain that for me:

We have no good explanation for why exactly this is the case (that sn-2 position DHA is better incorporation into the brain), though I speculate that the more symmetrical nature of sn-2 DHA allows for more enzyme specificity due to the limited degrees of freedom for charge channeling.

sn-1 position DHA seems to be more easily processed by pancreatic enzymatic pathways, and transported within blood plasma. The implications of this I do not know. I can speculate that there is some interaction between charge interaction between the blood-borne products of sn-1 catabolism with cholesterol-sulfate in the arteries, and hence provides the oxidative signal required to maintain good cardiac function.

But again, this is speculation. All I know is that sn-1 DHA tests coherent for the heart, and sn-2 DHA tests coherent for the nervous system.

Questions and Tentative Conclusions

Always test. DHA from seafood, from seafood-derived supplements, or from algae-derived supplements can be “the best option” depending on the context.

•What about people with so called seafood allergies? How will they respond to different types of DHA? Will they have different allergic reactions depending on the source of the DHA?

•How many people who “do not do well with seafood” will do fine with properly methylation support?

•What about other sources of DHA? eg: eggs can contain quite a fair bit (sometimes up to 200mg DHA for 2 free-range eggs)

•What about whole algae?

In any case, this is not a case where “seafood is always best”. I'm here to get the best practical result, and being open to using all tools at hand is the right approach.
